DO YOU HAVE A PAINFUL SHOULDER WHEN SWIMMING?
Swimming specialist physiotherapist Alex Ewart explains shoulder pain
Helen was pumped. Over the last few months, she started to get back into swimming after a 10+ year hiatus. She was feeling fit and, for the first time in a while, Helen was excited about exercising again.
This was until she started to feel a nagging ache in front of her right shoulder. Like many swimmers she decided to Google to try and figure out what this shoulder pain was and why she was having it. As she searched, Helen discovered she was dealing with Swimmer’s Shoulder.
Sifting through all of the information on the internet was frustrating. Each website said something different about Swimmer’s Shoulder. None of the websites gave her a good idea of what causes Swimmer’s Shoulder. It wasn’t until Helen and I started working together that she was able to understand the causes of Swimmer’s Shoulder and what she needed to do about it.
