WORKING WITH GELS
As well as colour temperature gels that let you warm or cool your light source, there are also green gels that correct for fluorescent lighting. Use these under fluorescent strip lights to balance your subject with the ambient light. When using correction gels, sometimes it makes more sense to balance the lighting by controlling the ambient light. This might involve covering windows with sheets of warming gels to match with tungsten interiors, or gelling tungsten lamps with blue gels to correct for overly warm colours.
