STRAWBS
STRAWBS
A Glimpse Of Heaven (Radio And TV Sessions 1966-1984) ESOTERIC
Complete radio recordings from folk-prog greats.
When Dave Cousins died last year, the media coverage felt insufficient. Strawbs, the band he led for the best part of 60 years, never became big stars despite an outstanding body of work around the prog and folk fields, and even a couple of hit singles. There was a bathos to obituaries citing the atypical Part Of The Union as the classic Strawbs track, as it was one of the few songs which Cousins himself had little to do with.
