In the November 2016 issue of Rider, our cover story takes two modern classics, the neo-retro BMW R nineT and traditional Triumph Bonneville T120 Black, into the hills and onto the highway to explore their differences and similarities. The new 2017 Harley-Davidson Milwaukee-Eights are covered in Kickstarts, and we put three middleweight naked sportbikes (Kawasaki Ninja 650 ABS, Suzuki SV650 and Yamaha FZ-07) in a comparison test of their strengths and weaknesses for commuting as well as haring around in the mountains and canyons. Yamaha has unleashed an upright naked version of its potent R1 sportbike called the FZ-10, and we put this torque monster through its paces on the Dragon in Tennessee. The Devil made Clement Salvadori take a Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT to Arizona to explore the Coronado Trail Scenic Byway, a.k.a. The Devil’s Highway, and his report on the former Route 666 is an inspiring tale of twists, turns and desert byways, as is Kathleen Kemsley’s story of following the great rivers into the high Rockies in Colorado. The November issue also has lots of great tips on helmet buying and Stayin’ Safe, gear reviews, a great Favorite Ride in Cajun Country and plenty of sass, silliness and wisdom from our erstwhile columnists. Get it while it’s hot!
