JASON MILES
Over the past 20 or so years, ever since I was a chubby young man without a care in the world and a cheese and bacon roll constantly at hand, I’ve done loads of bike rides, lots of bike races, and I’ve lost lots of lard. You’d think that with the amount of endurance racing experience I have, I should by now be like a robot when it comes to being organised and have a cautious attitude to risk that would rival Ladbrokes.
In fact, my day job absolutely requires me to be organised and risk averse and my other day job (the race-organising job I do for a laugh so that I can swan around pretending to be a hero while shouting down a megaphone) would go to complete ratshit if I wasn’t on the ball and concentrating.
