What’s new in this issue?
Exclusively on the cover is mudlarker Simon Bourne (Si-Finds), whom shares his best finds to date from the Thames foreshore, including a large Queen Victoria bust and some Roman pots. Other highlights within the covers are an article about ‘Hoards, and how to recognise them’ by Mike Sinclair, who explains that scattered hoards aren’t always obvious and suggests ways to recognise them. Adrian Marsden writes an in-depth article about coin (or nummular) brooches, the various types and how and why they were popular. Two Roman cavalry swords discovered at a Go Detecting Midlands rally by Glenn Manning, have led to a settlement discovery after an excavation. The swords, and other associated material, have since been kindly donated by Glenn and the landowner to the Corinium Museum. Our technical piece this month, seeing as it’s the summer season, is our annual Beach Testing article. This year, Neil Ham and Scott Sibbald tested the Rutus Versa, Nokta Legend, XP Deus II with new HF coil, Garrett Vortex and Minelab Manticore in dry and wet sand and the surf too.

Fantastic magazine and covers some fantastic finds Revisto 11 março 2020

the best

I have been reading this magazine since the 80's and it is still the best for articles and news.
I particularly like I.D. and valuation desk along with the club reviews because they widen my knowledge of the artefacts out there in the fields of our historic country.
