Paradise rebuilt
Across the globe, areas that have felt the impact of human habitation are being reclaimed for nature. There is evidence that rewilding boosts a natural rebirth remarkably quickly. Mike Unwin has visited many such projects, so was intrigued to investigate an initiative on a tiny tropical island in the middle of the Indian Ocean. It was a tough assignment, but someone had to do it.

With almost a quarter of a century’s experience photographing wildlife across Africa, Steve and Ann Toon share their hard-won tips for capturing memorable pictures on safari, with this portfolio from recent trips to South Africa, a country they return to frequently.
SOUL SANCTUARY
Travellers are increasingly conscious of the impact of their trip, while seeking a more holistic and rejuvinating experience. As Emma Gregg discovers, one safari operation in the Namib Desert has embraced this completely, to uplifting effect.
WILD AT HEART
Guidebook author Philip Briggs has travelled into every corner of more African countries than most people visit, and in every way, from foot to fly-in.
