Airing over three consecutive nights on ITV, Trauma follows high-flying surgeon Jon Allerton (Adrian Lester), whose perfect life is turned upside down when a fifteen year-old stabbing victim, Alex Bowker (Albie Marber), lands on his operating table. After being unable to save him, Jon finds himself questioned and harassed by the teenager’s devastated father, Dan (John Simm), who holds him personally responsible for Alex’s death. As Dan slowly infiltrates the surgeon’s life, a dangerous psychological warfare plays out between the two men. But just how far will Dan go to seek his own brand of justice? We spoke to Simm, 47, and Lester, 49, to find out more.
