Wedding Flowers Magazine  |  September-October 2013
I‘ve been in the bridal world for nearly 10 years now and no matter how much we use the words ‘timeless’ and ‘classic’, I’m always amazed by how quickly trends in wedding flowers evolve. When I first started it was all about (what I call) ‘Vera Wang elegance’ – think hand-tied posies and vintage-style roses in muted colours, as well as over-the-top tablecentres which fitted with a booming economy and big wedding budgets. It wasn’t so cool to be colourful or ‘granny chic’
back then but it’s all change now, with previously forgotten flowers such as lily of the valley, freesias and carnations all hitting the trends tables again, and wild, meadow blooms being seen in
bouquets and ‘70s-inspired crowns everywhere. Planning your weddingflowers has never been more on trend – see our In With The Old and The New Young Floristry Club features on pages 14 and 16. and, with so much talent out there, it’s time to get creative with your own moodboards. Turn to page 25 and be inspired. Enjoy the issue!
