Hitting 250 issues is a rare achievement for any monthly games magazine – here in the UK, only Edge, PC Gamer, GamesMaster, CVG and Play have done it before. So what better time than now to reflect on the most eye-catching covers we’ve created over the years?
NICK It’s another milestone issue and I thought we should take the time to give ourselves a little pat on the back. So, what are your favourite Retro Gamer covers?
TIM How are you supposed to pick? There’s 250 of the bloody things! (Which is an incredible achievement really.)
DARRAN Hmm, tricky question but I’ll give it a go. Issue 19 because it was my first issue. Issue 84 because it features myself and Rare (two of my favourite things). The Strider cover for issue 217’s Capcom split run, issue 86’s Isometric Evolution cover, the Space Harrier cover for 145 and the amazing pixel art of issue 200 are the first that spring to mind.
