Whileour latest reader collects all sorts of videogames, Jordan Maison has a particular interest in anything related to the Star Wars universe. “One of the things I love most about Star Wars is the potential,” he tells us. “It’s a giant sandbox that allows all kinds of storytellers to have fun without ‘breaking the rules.’”
As with many collectors, Jordan’s collection started out when he was younger, although it initially focussed on Star Wars toys. “I was collecting Star Wars in general before I started picking up the games, and now Star Wars gaming is a major area of my collection,” he says. “The gaming side of my collection came about pretty gradually. I started hoarding toys and such when I was younger, and was aware of Star Wars games existing, and even had the brutally hard JVC Star Wars Game Boy title.” Jordan started acquiring more games as he got older, and recalls a pivotal turning point when he turned 13 years old. “Several family members pooled their money together to get me the Nintendo 64 Episode 1: Racer console bundle for my birthday,” he says. “I loved it and played it every day. It was also the only N64 game I had for a long time, but it’s a memory that remains special for me.”
