FLIGHTS OF FANCY
Hi Retro Gamer,
There have been many flight sims over the years from Ace Of Aces on the C64 to B-17 Flying Fortress, Longbow and Falcon on the Amiga and PC. Recently, publishers seem to be revisiting and remastering old sims or releasing new ones with a distinct retro feel like MicroProse’s Tiny Combat Arena. It’s just a thought but have you considered a feature or article on flight sims?
Thanks, Rob Santiago
STAR LETTER
I’M GETTING BORG
Dear Retro Gamer, As much as I love your fantastic magazine, I have a bone to pick with you – why have you never put a Star Trek game on the cover? You’ve done so many Star Wars covers now that I’ve lost all track of them, and yet there’s never been one covering the bold exploits of Captain James T Kirk and the rest of the USS Enterprise crew. There’s a surprising number to choose from, including text adventures, point-and-click adventures and first-person shooters and some of them are really good. There was even an excellent VR game when you worked on the bridge of the USS Enterprise, which I loved playing. To quote Star Wars, there’s clearly a disturbance in the Force, and it’s only right that you rectify this huge oversight by giving us the Star Trek cover we all clearly deserve.
