Bulletin

British Rowing has announced that transgender women will not be able to compete in the women's category at its events. The governing body changed its policy following "extensive and ongoing research and consultation". An open category will be available for trans women who were assigned male at birth, they can also “participate in recreational/noncompetitive activities and events in the gender they identify as”. Competition organisers can also offer a mixed category, providing half the crew meet the women's category guidelines. The new policy is set to come into effect on September 11. Rowing Ireland is also reviewing its policies around transgender women competing in female competitions and events.
