Scramble Magazine 406 - March 2013 Back Issue

English 152 Reviews   •  English   •   Aviation & Transport (Aviation)
This month's edition features specials about:
- Museo Aeronáutico de la Aviación Militar Bolivariana
Over the years, the Venezuelan Air Force has operated a wide variety of aircraft. The Museo Aeronáutico de la Aviació Militar Bolivariana strives to preserve that rich heritage. Situated on the grounds of the former military air academy, its historic hangar is still in use for the collection, read about the entire collection in our latest issue.

- Canadian Warplane Heritage
Our story on the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum continues. In this second Scramble article on CWHM you can read more about its history from 1980 to the present. There were acquisitions of rare aircraft types, successful fi rst postrestoration flights, but also a devastating fire. So read for yourself!

- Ceasefire...? What ceasfire?
After the war in Vietnam ended in early 1973, most of the US combat troops departed Southeast Asia; all but a handful of ‘advisors’ remained in South Vietnam and apart from the Navy’s carriers in the Gulf of Tonkin, the only credible presence of combat aircraft was in Thailand, where the USAF retained a small but viable combat element. Jan van Waarde reports on USA operations from Thailand after the Vietnam war ended.

Our monthly returning topics:
* Movements and trips Netherlands, Belgium + Rest of the World, civil and military.
* The latest news, both civil and military.
* Updates on the world's aircraft fleets, civil and military.
* Aircraft mishaps in Dustpan & Brush.
* Wrecks & Relics.
* Warbirds.
* Scramble Intelligence Service.
