Scramble Magazine  |  417 - February 2014
Amongst our returning topics, this month's edition features a special about:
- The Tip of the Spear: IAF F-15 and F-16 air combat victories
The Israeli fighter community is well known with air combat is an understatement, as it had accumulated hundreds of air-to-air kills during the War of Independence, the Suez Crisis, the Six Day War, the War of Attrition and the Yom Kippur War between June 1948 and April 1974. Aircraft like the
Mirage IIICJ, Nesher and F-4E Phantom accounted for 90% of these kills. 26 years of almost continuous conflict with its Arab neighbours had moulded Israeli aircrew into some of the best fighter pilots in the world.
From 1979 on, also the F-15 and F-16 saw air combat and made air kills.
Marco Pennings made a overview on all known F-15 & F-16 kills.
