BLU-RAY DEBUT Despite these two mini-series being made three years apart, major roles being recast, and different UK distributors releasing them on Blu-ray, watching Syfy’s Dune and Children Of Dune together proves to be a perfectly coherent bingewatching experience. Produced in a pre-streaming era when such offerings were called “event TV”, these adaptations of Frank Herbert’s ’60s novels feel like an important evolutionary step towards the long-form TV dramas that proliferate today.
