Cerebus: High Society
Personal recollections of cherished sci-fi and fantasy

It was the cover that grabbed my interest. The first time I saw a copy of “High Society” – volume two of the indie comics epic Cerebus – I was in a comic shop in 1989, and I didn’t know what I was looking at. Most comics scream for your attention, but “High Society” was enigmatic: a chunky, 500-page black-and-white collection with no blurb on the back, just a wraparound cover showing a weird-looking animal (wait, was that an aardvark?) arriving at a massive building.
