The 2001-built/11,530gt ro-ro vessel Finnhawk has left Finnlines to begin sailings from the Canary Isles as part of a Fred. Olsen freight operation. She arrived in Las Palmas on 30 September 2024 and began daily round trips from Las Palmas to Tenerife, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote in November 2024. The service is claimed to be the area’s first viable ro-ro network.
Built in China at the Jinling Yard, she has 1,890 lane metres of freight space, including accommodation for 12 drivers. She has a 20-knot speed from a MANB&W 12V48/60B diesel engine positioned at the stern, which delivers 12,600kW of power. She has been renamed Bahia Cargo.
