1 On a standard crochet stitch diagram, the spaces and blocks are represented by the crochet symbols for chains and trebles. The chart pictured left shows a diagonal pattern and, if you look closely, it gives a good visual idea of how the completed project will look. It can be helpful for beginners, but it includes a level of detail that’s not really necessary with filet crochet.
