“I was excited to participate in this Hook to Hook challenge, and I was also intrigued by the brief, to design a ‘granny square scarf’. Granny squares are not my ususal go-to, but
I couldn’t wait to try something outside of my comfort zone and put my own colourwork spin on it! I was inspired by my quilter friends and decided to experiment with half-square triangles for a beginner-friendly scarf.” Find Nichola on Instagram at @elimee_designs or on her website, www.elimeedesigns.co.uk

“I knew I had to take part in this Simply Crochet Hook to Hook challenge when I was asked; squares and colourwork in a scarf are definitely right up my street! I think the classic granny really takes on a new form here, and I love the versatility of such a simple design. The Cygnet yarn I used for the project was also lovely to work with and gives a soft finish to the scarf. I’ll definitely be using this yarn for my wearable makes again!” Find Alexandra on Instagram at @nattythread
