The sofa workout

Perfect when it’s dark and rainy outside, or if you’ve only got half an hour between your favourite TV shows, our sofa workout is designed to help strengthen your body and get your heart pumping. Devised by Slimming World personal trainer Fiona Morrison, it’s a great way to tone up at home and counts towards your week’s Body Magic total, too!
Getting started
All you need is a pair of comfy trainers, a stable sofa or armchair and a cushion or pillow. Warm up first for around six minutes (see ‘Warm up’, below), then start the exercises in any order you fancy. Try to repeat each move 12-15 times, or as many times as you can manage, without stopping, then rest for 30 seconds before moving on to the next exercise. When you’re ready to make it a little harder, complete two sets of each move, with a 30-second rest in between each set.
