Huawei’s previous MateBook X Pro was hardly a chonk, but the 2024 version makes it look like it had a subscription to Pies By Post. Mass has been shaved off everywhere possible, from the keyboard to the cooling system, to the point that you can hold this laptop one-handed without your wrist complaining.
If you’re waiting to hear about all the hardware sacrifices that were necessary for this dramatic 30% drop in weight, you won’t find any here. The Intel Ultra 9 185H is a mighty chip, and it’s been paired with 32GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD. Huawei has also switched from LCD to OLED for the touchscreen, but the 14.2in size and 3:2 aspect ratio are unchanged from last year, as is the wonderfully sharp 3120x2080 resolution.
