SONOS RAY
Not content with absolutely nailing the whole multiroom music thing, Sonos has pretty much sewn up the soundbar scene in recent years too. If you don’t have the space (or the cash) for an Arc or Beam, this new Ray should be just the ticket. It uses an optical cable rather than HDMI, but despite only being 60cm wide it comes with four Class-D amps powering two full-range drivers and two tweeters, with Trueplay tuning ensuring the sound fully fills your room. There’s no Atmos but you still get Dolby Digital and DTS Digital Surround, plus there’s a Night Sound mode that tones down the loud bits and boosts dialogue, so you can carry on watching The Boys when everybody else has gone to bed.
