Slack feed the week before the OnePlus 8 dropped on our doorstep.
Was the company about to muck it all up by charging a hard-to-stomach extra £250 for 5G, wiping out the main appeal of its great-value phones? Then, suddenly, drum emojis were replaced with crash cymbal gifs – and while that used up nearly all the remaining storage space on our enterprise messenger platform of choice, it signalled good news: starting at just £50 more than the 7T, the OnePlus 8 is very much a reasonably-priced phone and the brand’s rep remains intact.
