Apple’s late-2021 reinvention of the MacBook Pro was in some ways a retrovention, since some ports were added back on having previously been taken off, like the SD card reader and HDMI port. The keyboard too was a return to the past, moving on from the disastrous butterfly keys era.
This year all those tweaks are consolidated – and the big change is inside. While last year’s high-powered Macs featured variants on the M1 processor, this time we get the M2 Pro and M2 Max.
