TIPS &
TRICKS
●Other brands with Google TV miss out on UK catchup services such as iPlayer, but not Sony.
●The nicer of the two remotes has a mic button, for yelling voice commands at Google Assistant.
●Note that only two of the HDMI ports support variable refresh rate and auto low-latency mode.
1 Sony XR65X95L
£1699 /go.stuff.tv/X95L
With Sony’s track record, it would have been more of a shock if the X95L hadn’t been a stunner. But its bright and composed images, fine build quality and wide feature set mean only console gamers demanding OLED response times and a Dolby Vision game mode need to think twice; for everyone else, it’s got what you need and then some. Just be aware that it’s a chonky old set, and doesn’t come in anything smaller than 65in.
