HG Wells called – he wants his aliens back.
Very observant, but don’t pretend Tom Cruise didn’t introduce you to War of the Worlds. Anyway, these floor-standing speakers aren’t the result of a unique collaboration between Earth and Mars; they’re the work of Berlin-based audio experts Teufel and Bavarian porcelain pros Rosenthal. Standing almost exactly a metre tall, the stereo pair is apparently the first ever Wi-Fi speaker system to be made from porcelain.
Isn’t porcelain what they make lavs out of?
Good luck finding an Armitage Shanks that sounds this good. They might look a bit like two massive AirPods propped up on plastic canes, but the teardrop shape of the enclosures minimises distortion and interference, while the hollow tail ensures you get nice deep bass. The oomph is provided by a separate 160W Class D amp that’s also made of the hard white stuff. On top you’ll find a row of touch-sensitive controls, but the chances are you’ll be controlling everything through the Teufel Raumfeld app.
