I once went to a restaurant that blended traditional Ethiopian food with Cuban cuisine; it turns out that, done well, fusion is fantastic. In Inevitable, the culinary combination is one part magical-sword-of-legend Arthurian myth; the other ingredient is a tobacco-chewin’ gun-totin’ Western.
Now, if you’re on board for the King Arthur-ish aspect, you’ll be expecting lots of lore, often with an intentionally vague or mystic edge to it, and you’d be right. Inevitable is one of those rare RPGs that manages to be extremely rules-lite whilst being pretty loreheavy. You get thrown in slightly at the deep end, with some heavy concepts and lots of heroic names to remember.
