What’s new in this issue?
WOW! It really is an extremely beautiful, not to mention rare, exclusive on our cover this month. The high-status Post Medieval pomander is gold filigree with a blue set gem and is the size of a golf ball! Read how events unfolded. Other exclusives are a stunning gold Medieval ring with the three Magi around the bezel found by Laura Chatten-Stow, a gold hammered coin found by Team Searcher’s Pete Anning on a club dig, PLUS Ninth Region MD has found their FIFTH Roman coin hoard! Our technical piece this month is Part 2 of ‘Detecting myths that refuse to die’ by Neil Ham & Scott Sibbald and Emma Youell reports on the LEGISE Pilot Search, which has the potential to set a new standard for organised detecting with landscape recording. And finally, David Villanueva shares how to structure your sites for continuous searching in ‘Planning Your Detecting Year’.

The Pocketmags app runs on all iPad and iPhone devices running iOS 15.6 or above, Android 8.0 or above, and Amazon Fire Tablets from 2018 onwards, though owners of earlier Fire models can check the Amazon Appstore directly on their device to confirm compatibility.

For iOS users, we recommend using a device capable of running the latest version of iOS for optimal performance and stability, as older hardware with lower processing power and RAM may experience slower page rendering or occasional stability issues due to device memory limitations. GREAT PICS AND STORIES! Reviewed 04 May 2020

The Searcher

This is a super hobby magazine, which Ive been receiving for quite a few years. Although I do not get involved as much as I used to, I still love to read other peoples successes. Keep it going. Reviewed 28 April 2020

The Searcher

Fantastic magazine and covers some fantastic finds Reviewed 11 March 2020

the best

I have been reading this magazine since the 80's and it is still the best for articles and news.
I particularly like I.D. and valuation desk along with the club reviews because they widen my knowledge of the artefacts out there in the fields of our historic country.

Downloaded OK. A little sluggish when sliding pages to read. Reviewed 24 November 2012
