THE OVERRUN
Small but perfectly formed reviews. The best of this month’s drives
MERCED ES-AMG BTB3
£1B4,7B5
SOFTER EDGED NEW GTB3 IS more usable these days - more practicality, more space, more options to find the Goldilocks suspension setting on a favourite B-road. That's not to say it's less fierce-theTT V8 has 577bhp and 5901b ft, and a full throttle lift brings literal fireworks. Even though Sport+ and Track modes tend to still be too hard for the UK, the GT63 is more sensible than before.

BYD SEAL U DM-i
£34,000 (est)
PREVIOUS BYD PRDDUCTS have thrown up immediate caveats, but the Seal U feels a much more honed product. A plug-in hybrid rather than full EV, it offers strong flexibility while still being smooth and .hushed to drive. It's deeply "pragmatic on paper while feeling reasonably premium jnside, even if its U ultimately doesn't stand for 'unique' in a crowded SUV sector.

INEOS GRENADIER QUARTERMASTER
£66,215
FOR Tough as old boots and full of character
AGAINST Expensive. Large and not that easy to manoeuvre
INEOS HASN’T JUST CHOPPED THE BACK OFF A GRENADIER STATION Wagon to create this Quartermaster. The pickup has an extended chassis, meaning it’s 5.44m long and weighs as much as Wales. There’s a payload of 835kg, the same 3,500kg towing capacity as the SUV and the same aircraft-style interior too. You also get the same BMW engines. We like the petrol – smooth and soundtracked by turbo whoosh.
