The holy grail of wildlife sightings, encountering a pangolin is something that very few people ever experience. Having said this, Sangha Lodge in the Central African Republic is practically overrun with these scaly anteaters, when compared to everywhere else. Sightings in the forest are regular, while a pioneering tracking programme means that they can be spotted during the daytime as well. The lodge also cares for and rehabilitates orphaned animals, so there is often a pangolin or two to be found here.
