Monarch Aircraft Engineering Limited (MAEL) has extended its line maintenance capabilities by gaining UK Civil Aviation Authority approval to work on Airbus A380s powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engines. This will enable the company to support operators of the type at Birmingham Airport.
It has also signed a line maintenance agreement with China Airlines. The Republic of China flag carrier will launch four times weekly non-stop services to Gatwick Airport from December 1 where MAEL will provide line maintenance services for the airline’s Airbus A350 aircraft. This is the company’s second A350 customer at Gatwick.
