This bottle of 1926 60-year-old Macallan whisky sold for a record hammer price of £1m at Christie’s on November 29, equating to around £48,000 per single dram. The bottle was part of a special edition of 25 bottles produced for sale at Fortnum & Mason in 1996. Artists Sir Peter Blake and Valerio Adami each designed a label for 12 bottles with this one a unique bottle hand painted by Irish artist Michael Dillon with Easter Elchies House at The Macallan Distillery.
