Isle of Arran Music Society are launching their new season with a very special musical event – one not to be missed.
In recent years the island has produced a number of brilliant young musicians, and on Saturday September 23, at 7.30pm in the community theatre at the high school there will be an opportunity to hear some of them.
The concert will be headlined by Iain Clarke on piano, and he will be playing music ranging from Mozart and Beethoven to Stravinsky and Rachmaninov. Supporting him will be Olivia Barker, whom islanders will remember for her lovely singing voice. She will be singing a wide range of material too, from Handel to Andrew Lloyd Webber and Les Miserables. There will be further evidence of Arran’s musical talent from Finlay Murchie on the saxophone, Mungo Paul on guitar and Lucy Walsh playing the flute.
