Business owners on Arran and throughout Scotland are celebrating the announcement of a 12.5 per cent business rates cap for one year for the hospitality and licensed trade.
The Scottish Tourism Alliance (STA), the British Hospitality Association and the Scottish Licensed Trade Association have campaigned heavily over the past few months to bring about a reversal in the proposal to increase business rates.
The proposed rates increase would have seen many businesses on the island facing serious financial challenges post-April with the threat of closures and the resultant loss of jobs.
