Last dance: Greg Rutherford bows out for the season before his Strictly Come Dancing campaign
FOR the last time in 2016 Greg Rutherford pulled on his spikes before donning his dancing shoes, and the Olympic bronze medallist came away with his seventh long jump victory in a Great CityGames.
Rutherford, an 8.51m man at his best, needed only 7.66m in his first round to win the competition, making it the first time since his win in Newcastle in 2014 that he has failed to go beyond eight metres – excluding qualification rounds.
