Before I delve into the topic of preparing for the beach I want to offer some background on how I realized the importance of doovers. My kids are grown, but I remember a time I took them to church; the whole morning was exasperating. My son who is on the spectrum, and my daughter who is not, were both being difficult. Meltdowns were happening, and I was looking forward to church for some peace and quiet. So, I kept pushing forward.
We were running a few minutes late, and as we pulled into the parking lot, my kids started having another meltdown. This time my nerves could not take it any longer. I screamed: “The devil won!” We got back into the car and left.
