Some children with sensory sensitivity, or sensory processing disorder (SPD), can experience either an overload of sensory input or are sensory seeking. It is important to note there is no such thing as being solel sensory seeking or sensory avoidant; some children or individuals with sensory sensitivity fall between the two where they may experience a sensory overload to some stimuli whilst still seeking some other form of sensory input.
