Rewilding in the UK Are you ready for the natural revolution?
As a nation, the UK is one of the least ecologically diverse countries in the world. The average amount of tree cover across Europe is 37 per cent, while in Britain we are at only 12 per cent – a mere fifth from the bottom of the list (gabrielhemery.com). Over the last 50 years, we’ve seen a 60 per cent decline in species in the UK (rspb.org.uk). We have lost all of our large carnivores and the majority of our large herbivores.
