As always, we’ll start with our cover piece and what a cover piece it is. Now I know that Liisa Turunen needs no introduction as her wonderful pieces are known worldwide. Each year Liisa makes a beaded snowflake, and this year she has decided to share it with us. ‘Flurry’ is made up of sparkle upon sparkle mixed in with a hearty sprinkling of opulence. The piece is perfect for around the home or even as a pendant; the choice is yours.
Get ready for all those festive kisses with a lovely pair of mistletoe earrings from Kerrie Slade. Keeping in the festive mood, we have baubles from Julie Ashford and Karen Small. Debra Hodoyer is back with us with her wonderful ‘Charlotte’ necklace. The project is quick to make and super pretty. Becs Dean-Skinner has made the perfect Right Angle Weave rope, and I’m bringing my full-on sparkle game with my ‘Serenity’ bracelet. Claudia Maria Pirv has designed a pretty little necklace and earring set that would be fabulous with your partywear. Last but not least, for the bead weaving side, we have Judith Johnson and her adorable beaded sugar mouse. A delightful treat for a loved one.
Moving away from the bead weaving, we start with Tracey Spurgin’s bang-on-trend PMC face earrings. These fab earrings are an excellent gift for that fashionista in your life. New to Bead and Jewellery is Sam Halliwell showing us how to make a pair of earrings using silver smithing. Alison Tarry has a gorgeous Celtic brooch design that will be perfect for keeping that winter scarf in place, and Jan Dwyer has designed a set of jewellery using pearls and wire that will be ideal for a winter wedding or just because you love pearls.
