INCREASED VERSATI LITY
DAVID VALINSKY
This Victorian terraced house in London has been remodelled to enhance its functionality, aesthetic appeal and long-term value. A gault brick side extension, built with pale yellow masonry, complements the original structure, while modern black-framed sliding doors and frameless glass add contrast. The extension reconfigures the ground floor, creating a spacious flow from the front door to the kitchen-diner, with practical additions like a utility room and WC. The first-floor outrigger was rebuilt with a timber frame, wood fibre insulation and lime render, improving energy efficiency by reducing heat loss. A similar project would cost £350,000.
