Camping Magazine August Back Issue

English
11 Reviews   •  English   •   Leisure Interest (Outdoors)
One of the reasons we go camping is that it gives us access to amazing places that we might not normally be able to spend a night. Campsites can be found on the banks of remote lakes, at the top of towering cliffs and in the shadow of mighty mountains. And usually they come with a view to die for. For under £20, you can enjoy the sort of vistas that will make your Instagram account the envy of your friends.

Even if you could find a hotel in one of these prime locations, you’d have to fork out a small fortune for the pleasure, with no guarantee that your room will have that all-important view.

Last summer we visited Switzerland and pitched up on a campsite right on the edge of Lake Thun, surrounded by mountains and with stunning views towards the Eiger. It was idyllic. A few hundred yards along the shore, my sister had booked into a hotel where they paid almost £200 for a room overlooking the car park! Smug, moi?

You don’t have to go as far as Switzerland, though. In this month’s issue we’ve selected some of our favourite British campsites with a view, from Cornwall to the north of Scotland. All of them will provide you with breathtaking outlooks, no matter where you pitch your tent.
