Apple iPhone 17e

Double standards

SMARTPHONE ❘ £599 from Amazon www.snipca.com/58561

There are two big reasons to love the new iPhone 17e. First, it gives you pretty much the same Apple A19 processor you’d find in the flagship iPhone 17. Second, at £599, it’s available for the same price as the 16e at launch, while doubling the storage – with 256GB in the basic version and 512GB if you spend £200 more. Either way, you save £200 compared with the standard iPhone 17.

Has double the storage for the same price as 2025’s iPhone 16e

The A19 chip in the 17e comes with one less GPU core than the 17, yet its performance level is still outstanding. It was faster than the Samsung Galaxy S26 and Google Pixel 10 Pro in our single-core benchmark tests, and still beats the Pixel 10 Pro in more demanding tasks. It’s incredibly slick in everyday use and significantly faster than the 16e when playing games. In 3D tests, it left Google’s premium models in the dust.
