THE SECRET TO BETTER BEHAVED KIDS?
We often hear that babies with older mothers might be exposed to increased health risks. But a recent report from the Netherlands suggests that, despite this, children with older parents might be better behaved. The report looked at behavioural issues across four studies of a total of 32,892 children aged 10-12. Overall, both parents and teachers reported fewer externalising behavioural problems for children with older parents than those with younger parents. The results reflected differences in socioeconomic status, assuming older parents might be better established in their careers, or have greater financial stability.
But even after accounting for this, the difference in reported behaviour was still clear.
