Knitting  |  October 2016
A whole weekend spent knitting – stopping only for tea and cake or a walk in the woods – is a dream for many busy knitters, and it inspired our Autumn issue. These are quicker knits to make over a weekend or to wear and use when you take a short break. Chunky jumpers that knit up quickly in bulky wool include Lara, a cabled cardigan designed by Alison Robson, Gwen, a shrug by Jo Allport, and Erika Knight’s Bardot sweater. There is also a great selection of accessories, perfect for a weekend make for you or to give away, including socks, cowls and hats for the whole family and a scarf exclusively designed for us by Kaffe Fassett in his iconic coloured stripes.
There are some great reads too – an account of the perfect knitting weekend from Laura Parkinson; yarn-bombing by Marie-Claire Canning and a review of knitting fiction. There’s plenty to curl up with in the Autumn issue of Knitting magazine.
