Apple Maps on the web now works on Linux in Firefox only. Visitors using other browsers see an error message.
In July, Apple announced that its Maps on the web feature was now in public beta. For the first time, it could be accessed from non-Apple devices.
Initially, Windows users could access Maps using Edge, while Firefox support was added in August.
This has now also been rolled out to Firefox users running Linux. Visitors to http://beta. maps.apple.com can scroll through Apple Maps and use its features. This seemingly only applies to stock Firefox however. When we tried to use the Firefox fork LibreWolf to access maps, the page failed to load.
