WHEN YOU’VE FIXED and removed the most obvious slowdowns and clutter, it’s time for a deeper clean. Here we explore some other steps you can take, such as off–loading your Desktop and Documents folders to your iCloud Drive, saving valuable space on your computer’s local drive.
Removing leftovers from deleted apps is also a good idea. If the app comes with an uninstaller, this is easy; simply run the uninstaller and the app is deleted, along with all its component parts. If this isn’t the case, you might need a useful third– party app such as Nektony App Cleaner & Uninstaller, CCleaner, Hazel or CleanMyMac X. macOS Ventura supports a huge range of languages, but how many do you actually use? If you want to save a little storage space, you can remove those that don’t interest you. Likewise, universal binary applications that can run on both Intel or Apple silicon Macs carry code for both processor families, when your Mac only needs one. You can safely remove the other. Look out too for tips on removing GarageBand sounds you don’t use.
