From decidedly broken to playable on the Arc Alchemist:
Halo gets a 750 percent frame rate boost with the latest drivers.
INTEL’S FORAY into discrete graphics cards has been a mixed bag. It started at the bottom of the market, and had, frankly, appalling drivers. The hardware has reached mid-range, but has always been hampered by driver problems. Alchemist was designed for DX12 gaming, but that’s not every game, especially if you’re sporting lower-level hardware. Performance on DX11 games was a mixed bag, from adequate to a disaster. Important DX9 games such as Counter-
Strike were effectively broken on the original drivers, too. Intel has been working to remedy this, publicly admitting the problem, and its intent to fix it as a “labor of love”.
