For years I’ve been creating miniature snow scenes purely for my own enjoyment, most of which have made for simple festive adornments for my home office and workshop. They also allow me to scratch a regular itch, as I’ve long wanted to create a ‘proper’ layout set permanently in the dead of winter.
And yet, the ability to revert to a more temperate scene remains an undeniable advantage, which is why the use of bicarbonate of soda has proven so useful. In contrast to Peter’s permanent snow scene on the previous pages, the following demonstration features a material and technique that is 100% reversible.
