Kate Cumming from Oban sent in this fascinating photograph of the Skye Agitators who campaigned for land reform in the 19th century at the time of the Clearances. Kate said: ‘It includes my great-grandfather, John Macintyre, who was a stone mason and missionary in Skye. John’s grandparents came from Argyll and were related to Mhairi nee Macintyre who married Duncan Ban MacIntyre, the Glenorchy bard. I thought you may be interested to know that John Macintyre was also an uncle of Calum Robertson, a chief inspector in the Glasgow police, who was in charge of the investigation in 1950 when the Stone of Destiny was brought back to Scotland.’
